For years, we chased answers. We sought assessments, therapies and specialists, hoping a diagnosis would help the adults around my son understand him. When the ADHD diagnosis finally came, I thought we had found the key. Instead, I began to realise that whilst the diagnosis was printed in bold, my child was still being seen through everything he could not do.

Finding answers brought hope, but the support our son needed came at a significant financial and emotional cost. This is a story about the price families can pay when access to support depends on time, money and resources.
